This is the recording of the online exhibition given in relation to the proposed development at 68-86 Clapham Road.

This was our first online public consultation for a planning application on 68-86 Clapham Road. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, we couldn’t hold a public event for people to attend in person. Using leaflet and Facebook advertising we the number of attendees over 2 live webinars, exceeded our expectations. This resulted in lots of useful questions and positive feedback.

The government is clear that planning applications are an essential activity. They want to protect the economy and the construction sector, while we’re doing everything we can to fight COVID-19. As a result, the government have asked planning authorities to embrace technology wherever possible and so we moved the consultation for this project online.

The Clapham Road project is a joint venture with Espalier Ventures. As we’ve delved into the history of the site, it’s been fascinating to learn this was once a Georgian Terrace. It was called Dorset Terrace.

Sadly the terrace was demolished in the late 1920s to make way for a new (at the time) London coach station. Now it is a Europcar car rental depot. You can see from the webinar image that we are proposing to restore the terrace to its former glory.
